Alphonse was born in Rhineland, Missouri on September 13, 1928, the son of the late Anton and Christina (Schluss) Bruckerhoff.

Alphonse was survived by two sisters, Agatha H. Buenemann and Hilda J. Struckhoff both of Washington, Missouri, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Selma M. Kruse.

He was a member of Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland, Missouri. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. Alphone was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in St. Louis, Missouri and also a member of the Rhineland Missouri American Legion Post 0147. He worked for McDonnell Douglas/Boeing Aircraft as an electrician and retired after 48 years.

Visitation will be Friday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Missouri.

Funeral Services will be held at Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland, Missouri at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5th, with Father Bill Debo officiating.

Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Rhineland, Missouri, with full military honors.

Bernard “Ben” John Bruckerhoff, 96, of Brighton, Colo.,formerly of Owensville, died on Friday, July 20, 2007 at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home in Owensville.He was born in Rhineland on January 7, 1911, the son of the late Joseph and Frances (Klahs) Bruckerhoff.  On October 4, 1941 in Owensville he was united in marriage to Helen B. Skornia.  Mr. Bruckerhoff served in the United States Army during World War II receiving six Bronze Stars for six European campaigns.  He was a bulk plant manager for MFA Oil Co. for many years. He was a member of the Owensville Rural Fire Protection Assn., the VFW Post 6133, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville, and was a member of the Knight’s of Columbus where he was a 4th degree.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; by a grandson, Michael Gay; by six brothers, Gerhardt, Lawrence, Martin, Frank,George and Albert; and by one sister, Regina Schneider.  His survivors include his children, Steven Bruckerhoff and wife,Shirley, of Elsberry, Nancy Gay and husband, Michael, of Brighton, Colo. and Ruth McLain and husband, David, of St.Clair; by his sister, Rita Gawer of Hermann; and by three grandchildren.Funeral services were held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville on Tuesday, July 24, with Father Joseph Hoi officiating. Lawrence Joseph Bruckerhoff, 89, Washington, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2003, at New Haven Care Center, New Haven.

Mr. Bruckerhoff, the son of Joseph L. Bruckerhoff and his wife Frances, nee Klahs, was born Feb. 7, 1914, at Americus.

He was married to Berdell Jenkens May 9, 1975, at Miami, Oklahoma.

Mr. Bruckerhoff received his schooling in the Starkenburg and Rhineland schools and at St. Henry's Seminary School in Illinois.

He worked for MFA Oil Company and was the fifth agent to sign with MFA Insurance Co., now Shelter Insurance.
Mr. Bruckerhoff had his office in Hermann, from which he retired. He then lived in Columbia, Washington and New Haven.

At the time of his death, he was a member of St. Francis Borgia Church, the Hermann Eagles, the Knights of Columbus, and the senior citizens centers of Columbia and Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Gerhard, Albert, George and Martin Bruckerhoff; and one great-grandson, Anthony Hutson.

Mr. Bruckerhoff is survived by four daughters, Virginia Otto and husband Henry "Skip," Washington, Katherine Buchheit and husband Eugene "Paul," New Haven, Ann Kinyon and husband Bill, Clinton, and Irene Haggard, Hermann; one son, Joseph Bruckerhoff and wife Wanda, Manhattan, Kan.; four stepdaughters, Linda Fritsch, Diane Lairmore and Kathlene Diestelkamp, all of Owensville, and Sharron Eichler, Columbia; one stepson, James Duncan, Marietta, Ga.; two sisters, Rita Gawer, Hermann, and Regina Schneider, O'Fallon; two brothers, Frank Bruckerhoff, New Florence, and Ben Bruckerhoff, Elsberry; two sisters-in-law, Rosella Bruckerhoff and Alice Bruckerhoff, Hermann; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 16, at St. George Church, Hermann, with the Rev. Bill Debo officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

She died on 23 February 2006 at the age of 86 in St. Charles, St. Charles County, Missouri. She was buried in Assumption Church Cemetery in O'Fallon, St. Charles County, Missouri. Regina M. Schneider, 86, of St. Charles died Thursday, Feb. 23,2006, at Mount Carmel Senior Living in St. Charles.  She was born in the Loutre area on June 23, 1919, to the late Joseph and Frances Bruckerhoff.

Also preceding her in death was her husband, Robert Schneider.  Mrs. Schneider is survived by two daughters, Carol Joseph of O’Fallon and Jeanette Mallak and her husband, Ronald, of Kearney; two sons, Gerald Schneider and his wife, Teresa, of O’Fallon and Nick Schneider and his wife, Caryn, of O’Fallon;one brother, Ben Bruckerhoff of the state of Colorado; one sister, Rita Gawer of Hernmnn; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 27, at Assumption Catholic Church in O’Fallon, with interment in the Assumption Church Cemetery, O’Fallon.  Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, c/o Baue Funeral Home, 311 Wood St., O’Fallon, MO 63366
 
Regina Mildred Bruckerhoff and Robert Francis Schneider were married. Robert Francis Schneider was born on 4 May 1918 in O'Fallon, St. Charles County, Missouri. He died on 12 October 2001 at the age of 83. He was buried in Assumption Church Cemetery in O'Fallon, St. Charles County, Missouri. Robert Schneider 83, of O'Fallon, died Friday (Oct. 12, 2001) at Blanchette Place in St. Charles.

Mr. Schneider was a retired set-up man from McDonnell Douglas Corp., now Boeing Co., where he had worked for more than 30 years. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 388 and Assumption Catholic Church, all in O'Fallon. He also served in the Army Air Forces from 1944 to 1946.

A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Assumption Catholic Church, 115 West Third Street, O'Fallon. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Among the survivors are his wife, Regina M. Schneider of O'Fallon; two daughters, Carol Joseph of O'Fallon and Jeanette Mallak of Kearney, Mo.; two sons, Gerald Schneider and Nick Schneider, both of O'Fallon; three sisters, Olivia Huber of O'Fallon, Mary Lee Powers and Helen Tochtrop, both of Wentzville; three brothers, Richard Schneider of Wentzville, Melvin Schneider of O'Fallon and Julius Schneider of Jonesburg; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Mrs. Bruckerhoff was born in Morrison, Missouri on February 20, 1923, the daughter of the late Hugo and Sophia (Bogler) Starke.
She was the widow of George Anthony Bruckerhoff. They were married April 3, 1945 at Assumption Church, Morrison, Missouri.
Alice is survived by two daughters Georgette McGuire & husband Dan of Wentzville, Missouri and Janice Elsenraat & husband Eugene of Hermann, a son Kevin Bruckerhoff & wife Diane of Columbia, three sisters-in-law Mary Jane Starke of Chamois, Dorris Starke of Morrison and Rita Gawer of Hermann, by six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, by two brothers Jerome & Marvin Starke and one sister Alice Ann Schowengerdt.

On 3 February 1937, she married Paul Bruckerhoff at Rhineland.

They served as caretakers of the Starkenburg Shrine for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Leroy Bruckerhoff, a sister, Edna Heesemann, and a great-granddaughter, Jill Elfline.

Survivors include two daughters, Loretta Elfline, and husband, Milferd, of Berger, and Eleanora Ebker, and husband, Clinton, of Drake; one daughter-in-law, Wanda Menke, and husband, Jim, of Berger; one sister-in-law, Theresa Struckhoff, and husband, Henry, of Augusta; 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and 9 great-step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at St. Martin Church in Starkenburg at 10 am, Wednesday, March 15, Father Bill Debo officiating. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the St. Martin Restoration Fund, the Frene Valley Health Center Activity Fund or to Masses at St. Paul Church in Berger.

 She was a homemaker.

 Mrs. Struckhoff was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Augusta.

She also was a member of the Ladies Sodality and Quilting Club.

 Mrs. Struckhoff was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Paul Bruckerhoff and Norbert Bruckerhoff; and three sisters, Veronica Schlatt, Berghitta Struckhoff and Bernice Struckhoff.

 She is survived by her husband, Henry Struckhoff, Augusta; four sons, Henry Struckhoff Jr., Ralph Struckhoff and Andrew Struckhoff, all of Augusta, and Matthew Struckhoff, Marthasville; one daughter, Virginia Struckhoff, Long Island, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

 Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 18, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Augusta. Father Ed Heim officiated.  Burial was in the church cemetery.

 Masses or memorials to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital or Immaculate Conception Building Fund in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385 are preferred.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sisters, Virginia Moore and Betty Stennett, both of St. Mary, and Clara Mertz of St. Louis; and two brothers, Clyde Bruckerhoff of St. Mary and James Bruckerhoff and his wife, Sherry, also of St. Mary.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Velma J. Bruckerhoff and Deborah M. Bruckerhoff, and four brothers, Anthony Bruckerhoff, John Bruckerhoff, Francis J. Bruckerhoff and William J. Bruckerhoff.

Mr. Bruckerhoff served seven terms as a Missouri state representative. He belonged to the Perryville Tractor Club and the National Guard, graduated from Southeast Missouri State University, taught at Perryville High School, and owned and operated a logging company in St. Mary. He also was known for his antique tractors.

He was born January 25, 1921 in Mokane, MO to the late Clemens and Estella (Reymer) Bruckerhoff. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven (Vickie) and his brothers, Vincent, Sylvan and Alfred.

On June 19, 1948, in St. Mary, MO, Walter was united in marriage to Geraldine Gamache who survives. She passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the New Haven Care Center. Agatha was born on February 9, 1920 in Rhineland to the late Anton and the late Christina (nee Schluss) Bruckerhoff. She grew up in Rhineland and attended St. Joseph Catholic School.

In her youthful years, she worked at the Blanton and Ballmann Motels in Hermann. These houses served as night rest for drummers while they sold their wares to the surrounding stores and factories. She also worked at the Shoe Factory in Hermann until she was married.

She was united in marriage to the late Harold R. Buenemann on June 28, 1943 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rhineland and became a full time housewife and mother to nine children. After her husband died in March of 1962, she provided childcare for pre-schoolers before she went back to school to obtain her GED in October of 1977 at the age of 57. She worked at Hazel and Enduro Binderies from 1977 until 1992. She was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes parish, volunteering with the St. Bernadette's Lady Sodality and the quilting committee. Community minded, Agatha served at the Ward 2 voting polls as a clerk and a judge. She loved to sew, quilt, and garden and volunteered for years at the Washington Town and Country Fair at the Home Economic Tent supervising the setup of the Food and Gardening division. She also was a 4-H project leader for the Washington Go-Getters overseeing sewing, cooking, and embroidering.

She is survived by three sons, Anthony and wife Connie Buenemann, Dennis and wife Kathleen Buenemann, and Jerome and wife Rita Buenemann; six daughters, Isabella and husband Gilbert Strubberg, Angela and husband Dennis Heck, Alice and husband Hubert Kluesner, Rita and husband Michael Fees, Irene Buenemann, and Esther and husband Joe Blum; twenty-one grandchildren, one step granddaughter, seventeen great grandchildren; one sister Hilda Struckhoff; two sisters in law, Ludy Rettke and Bernice Buenemann; other relatives, neighbors, and Our Lady of Lourdes quilting friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, eldest sister, Selma Kruse, brother, Alphonse Bruckerhoff, niece, Neomae Kruse, and one step granddaughter, Donette Jackson.

Struckhoff (nee Bruckerhoff), 94, of Washington, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Grandview Care Center.  She was born in Rhineland, Missouri on April 25, 1922 to the late Anton and Christina (nee Schluss) Bruckerhoff.  Hilda was united in marriage to the late Raymond M. Struckhoff on June 9, 1943 in Rhineland, Missouri.

She was a talented and skilled quilter, and enjoyed hand sewing and embroidering intricately beautiful quilts. She was a member of the St. Francis Borgia Ladies Sodality, Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, a monthly card club, and the Washington Senior Center.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, 10 am at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at the Church cemetery.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 28 from 3 until 7 pm at Miller Funeral Home.  Memorial donations are appreciated to the Roman Catholic Foundation (SFBRHS Scholarships) or the Friends Foundation (formerly Friends of Emmaus).

Mrs. Struckhoff is survived by four children, Kathleen Hertlein and husband Marvin, Patricia Wolking and husband Bill, Virginia Brinker, and Andrew Struckhoff, all of Washington; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three siblings, Selma Kruse, Alphonse Bruckerhoff, and Agatha Buenemann; one son in law, David Brinker; and one niece, Neomae Kruse.

She was the daughter of the late Clemence Meyer and wife, nee Laura Kraft.

 She passed away 19 November 1978, in Columbia, Mo., at the age of 48 years, 8 months and 13 days.

 On 14 September 1958, she was united in marriage to Rudolph Winkelmann. To this union, four sons were born.

 Survivors include her husband, Rudolph Winkelmann; four sons, Howard, John, Harold and Harvey, all of the home; a sister, Mrs. Elfrieda Wolfe of New Haven; two brothers, Wilbert and Francis Meyer, both of New Haven; other relatives and friends.

 Funeral services were held November 21 from the St. Martin Church at Starkenburg. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery at Rhineland.  Mrs. Winkelmann was a member of St. Joseph Church at Rhineland.

 Mr. Winkelman was born March 14, 1926 in Steadman, the son of August (Gus) and Christine (Scholten) Winkelman.
 He married Anna M. Zimmermann on May 10, 1947 in Hermann. She preceded him in death on Jan. 16, 1995.

 Mr. Winkelman worked in the Loading Department at A.P. Greens for 38 years, retiring in February 1989. He was in the Army. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and in the VFW.

 Survivors include five sons, James Winkelman, Jr. and wife, Marie, Martinsburg, Dennis Winkelman and Michael Winkelman, both of Benton City, Kevin Winkelman and wife, Kathy, Martinsburg, and Steve Winkelman and wife, Celeste, of Benton City; one daughter, Denise Barker and husband, Samuel, Benton City; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Rudy Winkelman of Hermann.

 He was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy.

Mrs. Starke was born in Treloar, Missouri on July 21, 1920, the daughter of the late John B. and Wilhemina (Engemann) Winkelmann.

She was the widow of Richard F. Starke. They were married April 25, 1946 at St. George Church, Hermann.

Elvira was a member of Assumption Church, Morrison, Missouri and of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
She was a homemaker. She also worked at the I.G.A. store for 13 years, for the shoe factory for six years and for Handi-Pac for five years.

Elvira is survived by two sons Dennis Starke & wife Diane of McAllen, Texas, a son Richard Starke & wife Pagamas of Manteca, California, and two daughters Marilyn Merrill & husband Kevin of Winter Springs, Florida and Sharon Lightfoot & husband Allen of Gilbert, Arizona.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters Angeline Eberlin and Legouri Biskup and two brothers Cletus & Isidore Winkelmann.

Vernon proudly served his country for six years in the U.S. Navy.  He was an chief pharmacist mate during WWII.
Vernon was married to Angeline Winkelmann on November 22, 1947.  To this union two children were born, a daughter JoAnn and a son Gary.  He later married Leonora Buecker on August 13, 1983.  Leonora preceded him in death on April 22, 2011.
Vernon was a member of St. George Church, the Hermann V.F.W. Post 4182, and the Hermann Eagles. He worked in the grocery business most of his life and later became owner of the IGA Store in Hermann for many years. 
Vernon is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Theissen & husband Joe, of Hermann, Missouri; a son, Gary Eberlin,  & friend Becky Mallard, of Rogersville, Missouri, by his grandchildren,  Jeffrey Theissen & girlfriend Chevon McFadden, of Hermann, Matt Theissen, of Hermann, Ryan Theissen, of Springfield, Missouri, Wesley Eberlin & wife Melissa, of Clarksville, Tennessee, Kendall Eberlin, of Denver, Colorado, and Wade Eberlin & wife Heather, of Union, Missouri, and by a great grandson, Mason Eberlin.

Milferd was a member of St. Paul's Church, Berger, Missouri.  He worked for Binkley Company in Warrenton for many years.  He was also the alderman of Berger for 14 years.

Melvin Leo Schlatt, 78, of Gasconade, MO, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Hermann Area District Hospital, Hermann, Missouri.
Melvin was born in Americus, Missouri on December 4, 1937, a son of the late Everett & Veronica (Bruckerhoff) Schlatt.
He was the widower of Leona A. (Brasch) Schlatt.  They were married on October 23, 1985 at Hermann. Leona preceded him in death on January 23, 2016.
Melvin worked as a machinist at McDonnell Douglas for 37 years until his retirement.  In his free time Melvin loved to fish, hunt, and work on cars.
Melvin is survived by two daughters, Patty Price & husband Randy, of Gilmore, TX; Jennifer Lambing & husband Jason, of Steelville, MO; two sons, Mike Schlatt & wife Bell, of Americus, Missouri; and Scott Schlatt, of Gasconade, a sister, Evelyn Heying, of Rhineland, Missouri, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and his best friends, his dogs, Pete, Doc, & Duke.

Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, by two sons, Kevin & Ronald Schlatt, a daughter Buanita Englert, a grandson, Melvin "Dusty" Englert and a granddaughter Casey Bulinski.
Visitation will be held Tuesday 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Darrel Deeker officiating.
Burial will be at St. Martin's Cemetery, Starkenburg, Missouri.
